ON...TO PRINCE GEORGE

September 13 ~ Thursday ~ and sun again...never get enough of it!
Foggy in the morning, in bits and pieces, but blue sky above. Saw mushroom camps again on this stretch of Hwy 37...campers, tents, make-shift shelters....can be over a hundred different 'parties' searching for (I'm not sure which) mushrooms and have heard some species sell for many many dollars. Another beautiful drive, ending up in Prince George at the Blue Spruce RV Campground where we have previously stayed...clean and nice...AND SHOWERS ARE FREE *ALMOST UNHEARD OF*!!!

Talkeetna purchase

We bought land about 15 miles SW of Talkeetna, Alaska...on e-bay...sight unseen! in 2006. I probably wouldn't recommend doing that for everyone, but we were blessed it was legal...and now have good neighbors in the north, too. In fact, one of our neighbors built a 250 foot road with a turn-around into our place and we could stay on our land part of the summer. Of course, then there was the flood with the washing out of the only good road leading to Malispina Loop, so had to wait to start back to MT for a few days until that was repaired and we could retrieve our cargo trailer, since we had left it on our land while down on the Kenai.

Welcome to the travels of John and Chrysa

We leave on June 6th so are in the process of thinking about getting ready. Actually, I've had stacks here and there all winter, but don't know if that'll save me time or not. I have washed and waxed the fronts of the camper (slide-in with tip-out) and under the overhead so all the bugs we hit can have a spot now. It was fairly crowded before starting...but I always use 'Black streak remover'~ if you haven't tried it, do...it's awesome! I'm going to give getting pictures on here a whirl in the near future...just hoping it's nearer (didn't have problems) than farther (had problems) away.
