NINILCHIK~PEACH GREEN TEA SMOOTHIES

July 1 ~ Sunday ~ cloudy/NOT WINDY!
Try a peach green tea smoothie! They are soooo yummy!!! Cindy made one for me today before the rodeo...only problem with it was the weather. Just kinda cool for a cold drink, but from now on that's what I'm ordering.
Took a picture of Mt. Augustine, spewing off a little steam, from the beach before parking for the rodeo. Lindsay again was first in the calf daubing (marking a calf with a mustard laden dauber on or in front of the shoulder while riding) with 2.some seconds! and Hannibul made another appearance, but is so fast that pictures blur. OH...and just a reminder...always have extra camera batteries along so you don't have to rush to the pickup for more...not saying that's from personal experience tho...or maybe...
Jack's brother, his wife and her sister/husband arrived for their Kenai experience for the next three days...fishing, cruising, visiting other relatives. As they were leaving one spotted a possible grizzly in the woods about 100 feet from the drive, so we are on the look-out for bear tonight...the 69" barreled gun at the ready. Of course, if it's anything like the resident moose...

Talkeetna purchase

We bought land about 15 miles SW of Talkeetna, Alaska...on e-bay...sight unseen! in 2006. I probably wouldn't recommend doing that for everyone, but we were blessed it was legal...and now have good neighbors in the north, too. In fact, one of our neighbors built a 250 foot road with a turn-around into our place and we could stay on our land part of the summer. Of course, then there was the flood with the washing out of the only good road leading to Malispina Loop, so had to wait to start back to MT for a few days until that was repaired and we could retrieve our cargo trailer, since we had left it on our land while down on the Kenai.

Welcome to the travels of John and Chrysa

We leave on June 6th so are in the process of thinking about getting ready. Actually, I've had stacks here and there all winter, but don't know if that'll save me time or not. I have washed and waxed the fronts of the camper (slide-in with tip-out) and under the overhead so all the bugs we hit can have a spot now. It was fairly crowded before starting...but I always use 'Black streak remover'~ if you haven't tried it, do...it's awesome! I'm going to give getting pictures on here a whirl in the near future...just hoping it's nearer (didn't have problems) than farther (had problems) away.
